The Nakiri is the traditional vegetable knife in Japan. In German, the term means “leaf cutter”. That’s pretty accurate. As it cuts so finely that vegetables can be prepared wafer-thin. The ZWILLING Gourmet series Nakiri knife is also designed to peel, divide or finely chop vegetables of any kind in Julienne strips or Brunoise cubes. With its ultra-sharp, symmetrical wide blade, it is also suitable for chopping herbs and even slicing meat or fish millimetres thin. The specially hardened 17 cm blade is precision-forged from a single piece of steel and hardened in a special process. This makes it resistant to corrosion, resilient and flexible. The ergonomically designed handle made of easy-care plastic ensures safe handling. The high weight of the knife is ideal for beginners to learn professional rocking cuts for chopping food in no time at all. The Nakiri knife is versatile but should not be used to cut meat or fish bones.
